Dai Dai Shogi Links

Steve Evans Shogi Variants program gets top spot again. Not strong - but useful.
Dai-Dai games can be replayed and moves examined, looking at the influence and threats of pieces.
Will produce a text score or text diagram. Has full rules and piece help.

If you have the full version of "Zillions of games" try these new graphics for Dai Dai Shogi (large).
File size = 654.36k Unzip where you want and double click "daidai.zrf"
Make sure Zillions is set near the top left of the screen (preferably no bars)
This is the same download as for Dai Shogi and also contains "dai.zrf".

If you have not got Zillions (or not registered) and you like variants, it's worth buying.
Registration is cheap and you get a lot of chess and Shogi variants (some quite strong).
More important here is that Zillions has the strongest Dai-Dai-Shogi playing program.

Dai-Dai-Shogi pieces, board and rules booklet can all be purchased from George Hodges.

This is a simple GIF file to download and printout on a single A4 sheet. It will serve as a very useful aid to any budding players not totally familiar with the pieces. ("printset.gif" is 58.44k).
Nice video link to view an actual game being played out (2.5 min). Shumby vs. Steve's AI.
"Might help people envision a full battle a little better plus it's just kinda fun to watch."
